Since our founding in 1946, as the core trading company of the Daido Steel Group and as a trading company specializing in special steel, we have supported manufacturing sites not only in Japan but also around the world through the proposal and sale of special steel products, raw materials, magnets, and machinery and equipment.

We have expanded our business to areas such as automobiles, industrial machinery, aircraft, ships, and IT-related products, as well as medical care, and aim to continue providing reliable materials and solutions to a variety of industries and connect people, industry, and the future.

The world is currently facing change and uncertainty at an unprecedented speed. We see this environmental change as an opportunity, and while leveraging the trust and network we have cultivated over the years, we will actively work to build new business models, develop new markets, and promote resource circulation businesses aimed at achieving carbon neutrality.

In addition, by strengthening the functions and improving the mobility of our overseas bases, we will continue to respond flexibly to change from a global perspective and challenge ourselves to create new value.

History

Jan. 1946: Established in Sakuma-cho, Minato-ku, Tokyo (company name: Showa Timber Industry, capital 190,000 JPY)

Feb. 1949: Company name changed to Daido Kogyo Co., Ltd.

Sep. 1950: Head office moved to Nagoya City

Jan. 1972: Established a new corporate emblem (DKK)

Jun. 1981: Merged with Special Steel Markets Co., Ltd. (capital: 1,150,000,000JPY)

Oct. 1983: Established Daido Steel (America) Inc. as a joint venture with Daido Steel Co., Ltd.

Mar. 1997: Paid-in capital increased to 1,511,500,000JPY

Aug. 1998: Established a local subsidiary, Daido Kogyo (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Thailand

Nov. 2000: Established a subsidiary Daido Kogyo (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China

Jul. 2001: ISO9001: Acquired 2000 (Quality Management) certification

Dec. 2003: Daido Shinagawa Building was completed. The company name was changed to DKK, and the new logo was established
Head office functions moved from Nagoya to Tokyo

Mar. 2011: Established a subsidiary, Daido Kogyo India Pvt. Ltd., in Gurgaon, India

Oct. 2012: Established a local subsidiary, PT. Daido Kogyo Indonesia, in Jakarta, Indonesia

Apr. 2014: Established a local subsidiary Siam DKT Co, LTD. in Bangkok, Thailand

Oct. 2016: Became a wholly owned subsidiary through a share exchange with Daido Steel Co., Ltd.

Aug. 2019: Established Daido Shimomura Steel Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. with Shimomura Tokushu Seiko Co., Ltd. in Thailand

Nov. 2019: Established Daido Kogyo India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore Branch, in Bangalore, India

May 2022: Closed the Hong Kong Branch
